American Princes
Little Spaces
Though the state of Arkansas has historically given us stars of the caliber of Johnny Cash and Al Green, it’s been known recently for Evanescence and rural meth labs. Little Rock’s American Princes might yet join that hallowed list. An indie act that thinks a little bigger than the average, this is clever but blunt rock with a country dark side. On the plus side, this means the thrillingly malignant Rock N’ Roll Singer, with the less happy inverse coming in the form of momentum-ending acoustic lament Revolver. Even So, it’s enough to suggest that this year’s follow-up could be something special.
