American Princes Indie is a rock groupie band which owes its roots to Little Rock, Arkansas. The band formed in 2003, with original band members being David Slade, John Beachboard and Matthew Quin. In 2006, the group was joined by Will Boyd on guitar. Tragically, brain cancer claimed the life of Luke Hunsicker in 2010. Hunsicker had joined the band in 2004 for their first national tour.

Although influenced by many other styles of music over the last eight years perhaps their main field of influence and one to which American Princes Indie has made significant contributions is the music genre called Funk, known for its African-American style blending soul and jazz with R&B sounds mixed in.Confused? The first album attributed to American Princes Indie was ‘We Are The People’ was recorded with Max Recordings. The group soon moved to New York City for greater exposure.. The year 2005, saw Princes Indie signing with Yep Records resulting in two more albums, ‘Less and Less’ and ‘Other People.’ This last album was ranked 1 on Magnet Magazine’s 2008 Best Albums list.
